This is the blog (a.k.a. diary) for Benjam & Chelsea Welker. It is a conglomeration of posts about life, our budding family, as well as anything else that tickles our fancy. We currently live in Utah, in the Salt Lake Valley.
Benjam and Chelsea were married in 2005 but dated 7 years before that… hey don’t want to rush into anything, right? They both share a love of science and, in a way, it brought them together: they met at the Hansen Planetarium where Chelsea was working and Benjam was volunteering (and later getting paid). They’ve been together ever since that first day they met.
They both graduated from the University of Utah; Benjam with a B.S in Physics, and Chelsea with a B.S. in Geophysics.
Although science is one of Benjam’s first loves, computers and programming are his passion and he is currently working as a Web Developer at Code Greene, but he also works on his own web-based projects in his free time. Benjam also contributes to the company blog at The Code Dojo.
Chelsea is a Geoscience Technician and Project Manager for an energy consulting business.
Chelsea’s job took them to Slovakia for 10 months where they enjoyed seeing many amazing places in Eastern Europe and Italy.
They have a young precocious daughter, Skye, who is their absolute delight. They are also expecting a baby boy this May and couldn’t be more thrilled at their expanding family. They also have a sweet Rottie-Lab mix, Sammie.
