Birth Date is always included.

Examples: 12 weeks or 4 months

Possible formatting codes:

  • %n - the current number of elapsed elements since the Birth Date (12 weeks)
  • %t - the type of element (12 weeks) (will be 'week', 'month', or 'lunar month')
  • All other text typed in the box will be output as is for every element

What is it?

With this web page, you can create your own custom baby calendar with all of the important dates calculated from your baby's birth date included. You only need to enter one date, and all others will be calculated and saved in one calendar file. This file will contain elements spanning from your baby's birth date, all the way up to two years after your baby's birth date. This calendar file (in iCal format) can then be imported into your favorite desktop calendar program, such as Google Calendars, Thunderbird (with the calendar extension), Sunbird, Outlook, etc.

What it isn't

This is NOT an online calendar, you must import the file into the calendar program of your choice. Although you can import this file into Google Calendars and make it an online calendar.

Instructions

To create your custom calendar, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your baby's name
  2. Enter your baby's birth date
  3. Select the elements you wish to include in your calendar
  4. Customize the format of your elements
  5. Click on "Download" to download your custom calendar file
  6. Import your calendar file into your favorite calendar program

Formatting Output

You can format the entries in your calendar by editing the content format box. If you wish to know only the week, month, or lunar month (depending on your selections) that you are currently in, just type in %n %t (which will give somthing like 12 weeks, or 6 months. If you only wish to know how many weeks or months you have left, type in %r %t remaining (note the word remaining, which will appear in every element, just as you typed it). This will give something like the following: 5 months remaining, or 7 weeks remaining. Also note that I did not type 'weeks' or 'months', that is taken care of by the %t item

The examples shown near the box will show real world examples of what you can expect to see when you download the calendar. The examples will change as you type in the format box.

This format customization only applies to the weeks, months, and lunar months elements. Periods and trimesters are not affected.

Note

Unfortunately, I cannot assist everybody with importing their calendars into the numerous different programs out there. But if you read your program's help file, it will give you instructions on how to import an iCal (ics) file into your program. You can also search for help 'importing an iCal file into [your program]' in your favorite search engine.
